Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy is part of August's Terms and prohibits certain uses of our Service provided by Credicle Corporation.
1. PROHIBITED USES - VIOLATING LAWS AND RIGHTS
You may not use the Service to:
1.1 Violate, encourage the violation of, or compromise the privacy or legal rights of others.
1.2 Infringe intellectual property rights of any third party.
1.3 Identify individuals from biometric data or create biometric databases without proper authorization.
1.4 Exploit vulnerabilities of individuals based on age, disability, or economic status.
1.5 Evaluate or classify individuals based on social behavior in ways that cause detrimental treatment.
1.6 Characterize individuals in ways causing unlawful discrimination or adverse treatment.
2. PROHIBITED USES - COMPROMISING SECURITY
You may not use the Service to:
2.1 Distribute malware, viruses, or other destructive items that could harm August's systems or third-party systems.
2.2 Interfere with Service equipment, networks, or functionality.
2.3 Circumvent Service controls, security measures, or access restrictions.
2.4 Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems connected to the Service.
3. OTHER PROHIBITIONS
You may not use the Service to:
3.1 Build competing products or services, or reverse engineer the Service.
3.2 Provide legal advice to third parties without appropriate human review and professional oversight.
3.3 Make automated decisions with material impact on individual rights without meaningful human supervision.
3.4 Make or substantially influence decisions regarding education access, employment opportunities, credit determinations, or legal service eligibility without meaningful human involvement.
4. EUROPEAN UNION REQUIREMENTS
For users in the EU or when output affects EU individuals, additional restrictions apply under the EU AI Act. You may not use the Service to:
4.1 Make decisions about educational enrollment, admission, or assessment without proper oversight.
4.2 Evaluate learning outcomes in educational or vocational training contexts without human review.
4.3 Assess appropriate education levels for individuals.
4.4 Apply law as a judicial authority without proper legal authority and human oversight.
5. ENFORCEMENT
5.1 August reserves the right to investigate violations and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating access to the Service.
5.2 Users are responsible for ensuring their use complies with this policy and all applicable laws and regulations.
5.3 Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate suspension of Service access without notice, termination of the agreement, and potential legal action where appropriate.
