Law has been billed by the hour and priced as a privilege. August productizes your knowledge and precedent, to empower firms and people and disrupt the stagnant legal market.

August started at a Columbia research lab. Rutvik, Thomas, and Joe had worked across law, finance, and technology, and kept seeing the same problem. Professional services firms were being sold generic AI built for someone else’s workflow. So they built the opposite: AI configured to one firm at a time, deployed by engineers and attorneys who sit inside the firm and build it with them.

Every engineer and attorney on this team came through someone we already knew, or someone they vouched for. They bring the same intensity to your firm that they brought to the hardest work of their careers.

Throughout 2025 and 2026, we’ve expanded from our initial U.S. client base to partner with forward-thinking firms globally, including England, Australia, Colombia, the Middle East, and India, driven by the belief that every firm deserves technology aligned with their distinct practice.
